Education Services
Debt Reduction Services (DRS) provides no-cost education to our communities, clients and guests in order to assist individuals to live debt-free and plan for a financially stable secure, and debt free future.
DRS provides this education to individuals and groups in a variety of settings to achieve goals of debt management, debt elimination and credit card help, including in-person credit counseling sessions, in-office group seminars, community-based outreach seminars within private and public organizations, companies, and programs, as well as in community schools and through email and the Internet.
Core Money Management Skills
The DRS Education Program aims to develop life-long proficiency in four core financial skill sets in debt and money management:
- Personal and Household Spending Plans (Budgeting)
- Preventing and Eliminating Excessive Consumer Debt
- Developing Effective Spending Habits and Consumer Behaviors
- Using Credit Wisely
- Smart Saving Strategies
Subjects and content of all DRS educational presentations, seminars, workshops and materials focus on one or more of these five debt and money management skill sets.
Real Solution Seminars
Trained financial educators and certified personal finance counselors in each of our offices offer a free 60-minute workshop every week on one of the five core financial skill sets listed above. Contact your local office for days and times that these courses are offered locally.

COMING SOON! Check back soon to find access to our archive of the quarterly Debt Gazette newsletter and our regular eTips produced by DRS. The Debt Gazette includes informative articles, tips and counsel regarding budgeting, spending habits, debt management and using credit . The eTips typically list three to five practical bulleted points that most anyone could use to improve the day to day management of their finances.
